(ABOUT ME)

Hi, I’m Elaina. I treat the brain like an engine.. Understand it, and everything starts to run differently.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker (LICSW) providing therapy that’s direct, structured, and grounded in how the brain actually works. I use evidence-based approaches like DBT, CBT, and trauma-informed care to map what’s happening in your nervous system, then we change the patterns driving it.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications (Advertising) and my Master of Social Work from St. Cloud State University (2018 & 2023). My background allows me to break things down in a way that actually makes sense and sticks…so you’re not just talking, you’re learning how to apply it.

I think about the brain like an engine because I grew up around that kind of work. When something’s off, you don’t ignore it or hope it fixes itself…you slow down, listen, and figure out what’s actually going on under the surface. You look at the patterns, what’s misfiring, what’s worn down, and what’s keeping the whole system stuck.

Anxiety, OCD, trauma responses, and emotional overwhelm all follow patterns. We don’t guess,  we break it down. What’s triggering it, what’s maintaining it, and what actually interrupts it. Then we build something that runs better and holds up over time.

Understand Your Brain. Change the Pattern.

My background includes community mental health, school-based work, and outpatient therapy with children, adolescents, and adults. I’ve worked with anxiety, OCD, trauma, and high stress in real-life settings not just theory.

Therapy with me is direct, collaborative, and focused on change. We’re not just talking…we’re identifying patterns, building skills, and applying them in a way that actually sticks. You’ll leave sessions with clear tools and a better understanding of how your brain works, so you can respond differently instead of staying stuck in the same cycles.
